But you have made it a den of robbers.” 18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. John 2:17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” What did Jesus find when he went to the temple, when Jesus went to church? And when God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, the sinless man, the one who was full of glory and grace and truth walked onto the grounds of that temple he not only cringed, not only was his heart broken, not only did holy anger rise up within him, but he took action against those who violated the temple. But you have made it a den of robbers.” When he called the temple a house for all nations that meant there was a standing invitation for all nations - all ethnic groups - all races - all languages - all generations - To come and encounter the living God.
