“Don't make yourself comfortable at a table Jesus would have flipped over.” Mark 11:15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple… Mark 11:15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 16 And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. 17 And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” 18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. John 2:17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” What did Jesus find when he went to the temple, when Jesus went to church? And when God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, the sinless man, the one who was full of glory and grace and truth walked onto the grounds of that temple he not only cringed, not only was his heart broken, not only did holy anger rise up within him, but he took action against those who violated the temple. Mark 11:15 And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” When he called the temple a house for all nations that meant there was a standing invitation for all nations - all ethnic groups - all races - all languages - all generations - To come and encounter the living God. Some of you may be sitting at a table right now that Jesus would be flipping. The table of; 1. Consumerism – My Needs. 2. Wokeology – My Truth. 3. Politics – My Rights. 4. Nostalgia – My Past 5. Defeat – We Have Lost John 16: In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
