The names of God; EL-Olam Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God (El Olam), the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. Psalm 90:1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. He’s the everlasting God. His everlastingness means - he’s not changing - he’s not going anywhere - he’s entirely faithful - is totally dependable - you can trust him - he is secure - and those who believe in him will never be sorry. The everlastingness of God will do something to our minds, to our hearts, and to our bodies. Isaiah 40:27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”? These people are accusing God of indifference but El Olam answers. 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. El-Olam is used over 400 times in the Bible. Obviously everlasting means that he has no beginning or ending. Everlasting can also mean that God have no boundaries. God’s power is everlasting and without limitation. His resources are everlasting and without limitation. His knowledge is everlasting and without limitation. His sovereignty is everlasting and without limitation. His salvation is everlasting and without limitation. His word is everlasting and without limitation. Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Take a look at the Scripture. Understand something; following Jesus Christ is not just another exhausting, demanding, and tedious thing. El Olam, the everlasting God, he knows all about your weariness and exhaustion and he invites you to come and get some power… And to increase your strength… And soar up like an eagle. To receive we must WAIT upon the Lord. Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
